Plant Overview - GLE Mina

Glacial Lakes Energy, LLC—Mina, SD (also known as Aberdeen Energy, LLC) a subsidiary of Glacial Lakes Corn Processors, is a 100+ million gallon ethanol production plant. The plant sits on a 287 acre site approximately 2 miles west of Mina, SD or 12 miles east of Ipswich, SD along US Hwy 12. The Design/Build Team was Fagen, Inc of Granite Falls, MN and ICM, Inc of Colwich, KS.

GLE Mina became operational in June 19, 2008 and employs over 50 employees.

Ethanol and ethanol co-products can be shipped by either rail or truck. The BNSF is adjacent to the site and the plant will have direct access to the rail line using its own rail spur that is designed to handle unit trains of ethanol for shipping to markets outside the local area.

In the spring of 2010, GLE-Mina installed a 7,000 bushel per hour corn dryer.

This plant is a dry mill plant consumes approximately 35 million bushels of corn annually to produce 100 million gallons per year.

The plant produces approximately 320,000 tons of modified wet and/or dried distillers grain (DDGS), which is sold to local and west coast markets.
